Inductive reasoning leads to the philosophical problem of induction, and conclusions you draw every day are inductive. Reflect on the possibility that these conclusions could turn out to be wrong (false). Explain the limitations of inductive reasoning and how you can improve your critical thinking by being mindful of the fact that most of the conclusions we draw each day are inductive rather than deductive. Explain the difference between strong and weak inductive reasoning. Give at least two examples to illustrate your reasoning.

Your journal entry must be at least 400 words in length. No references or citations are necessary but must be in APA Style formatting if used.

For this journal, you will compose a 300-word journal reflecting on types of reinforcement utilized in your childhood.

Think back to your childhood. Give an example of how operant conditioning was used to change your behavior. What type of reinforcement worked best for you when you were in grade school? Was it positive or negative? Did this change in high school?

Think about the company that you currently work for or that you have worked for previously. Identify characteristics of the environment as they relate to a business. Which of the factors discussed in this course seemed to affect it the most, and how did the company handle its effects? How might you have handled the factor differently if you were a decision maker within the company?

Your response must be at least 200 words in length.

4. Business

The purpose of this journal is to use the knowledge you have gained about the basic principles of marketing to review a commercial for a product or service. Please view the following commercial: Balancing Work and School video. A transcript and closed captioning are available once you access the video. In an essay response, you will include the following information concerning the commercial you just viewed:

What is the product or service offered in the commercial?

  • How would you describe the target market for the company that created this commercial?
  • How would you describe the specific market segment that the commercial is designed to reach?
  • What is the connection between the commercial’s message and the specific market segment?

Your journal should consist of a minimum of four well-constructed paragraphs. Sources used, if any, should be listed and formatted in APA.

5. Organizational Communication

The purpose of this journal is to compare and contrast two communication techniques that can be used to improve employee trust and engagement.

Your response should include the components below:

  • Explain why communication is essential in an organization.
  • Discuss the relationship between strategic planning and communication.
  • Explain the ways that effective communication improves employee trust and engagement. Focus on comparing/contrasting two types of channels or techniques (e.g., on-site meetings, employee surveys, workshops).
  • Explain the types of situations where each channel or technique would be most effective. Provide examples and facts for your audience. Avoid simply offering an opinion; rely on valid academic research.

Your journal should consist of a minimum of 3 well-constructed paragraphs. Sources used, if any, should be listed and formatted in APA.
