The quality of care in outpatient departments (OPDs) is a
critical aspect of healthcare delivery, particularly in Saudi
Arabia, where healthcare services are rapidly expanding.
Effective nursing management plays a key role in enhancing
patient outcomes, improving service efficiency, and ensuring
high standards of care. Nursing leaders in OPDs are
responsible for staffing, workflow organization, patient safety,
and adherence to clinical guidelines, all of which influence
care quality. However, challenges such as staff shortages, high
patient volumes, and resource allocation affect OPD
efficiency.

1. Systematic Review
This study will employ a systematic review design to analyze
secondary data from peer-reviewed articles, government
reports, and healthcare databases. The research will focus on
nursing management practices in outpatient departments
(OPDs) in Saudi Arabia and their impact on quality of care.
Studies will be selected based on relevance, credibility, and
alignment with the research objectives. Data will be analyzed
using thematic synthesis, identifying key patterns in nursing
leadership, staffing, and patient care outcomes. Ethical
considerations include proper citation, transparency, and
adherence to academic integrity standards. The study aims to
provide a comprehensive evaluation of existing nursing
management strategies in Saudi OPDs.

Expected outcomes

This study will show how nursing management affects the
quality of care in outpatient departments (OPDs) in Saudi
Arabia. It will highlight good leadership practices, staffing
needs, and ways to improve patient care. The study may also
find challenges like staff shortages and resource issues. By
reviewing existing research, it will provide useful
recommendations to help improve nursing management and
make OPD services better for patients and healthcare workers.
