ENG 106: Composition II Learning Unit 10: Assignment

Self-Directed Revision Assignment

Instructions: Although your instructor will be providing feedback on the rough draft, it’s also important

that you learn to recognize weaknesses in your essays and conduct self-directed revision. Please use the

concepts you have learned throughout this course, the “Persuasive Essay Final Draft Checklist,” and the

“APA Checklist” to review your essay. Then, complete the following:

1. List the six improvements you plan to make to your essay. You might consider changes to APA,

organization, research, argument quality, formatting, paragraph structure, etc.

2. For each of the six changes you plan to make, explain and discuss how you plan to make the

revision, why it needs to be done, and how you believe it will strengthen your essay.

3. When you have completed the assignment, submit your document to the appropriate MyHills

submission location.
