Kendrick vs. Drake.
Conflict is central to narrative. Conflicts present problems, challenges, disagreements, and the potential for resolution and redemption. Every story needs a conflict. Conflict is found in all forms of popular culture and can take many different forms. Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Archie vs. Maude on All in the Family. Alabama vs. Auburn on the football field (see example below). Dolly Parton vs. Jolene. More recently, Kendrick vs. Drake.
In light of this unit’s materials on pro wrestling and the Hulk Hogan-Andre the Giant rivalry, write a two-page reflection on a conflict in popular culture that you find to be compelling. The conflict can be from an older piece of popular culture or it can come from something more recent.
The key questions to address are: What are/were the main sources of this conflict? What makes the conflict intriguing? Does the conflict have distinct “heels and babyfaces?” Was the conflict resolved? If so, how and why? If not, why was it not resolved?
Use at least two written sources/articles found online. Do not use general information sites like Wikipedia. And, without question, do not use AI. Seek out legitimate and, if available and helpful, articles with some scholarly credibility. For instance, if you were to choose the Iron Bowl rivalry between Auburn and Alabama (not eligible since I’m using it for an example), the following article from the Encyclopedia of Alabama would be a great, reputable source:

.
Then, incorporate at least one visual/multimedia source to analyze and illuminate your personal reflection. Using the Iron Bowl example, YouTube footage from past games and documentaries would be terrific sources.
As this is a personal reflection, you can write in first person and take a less formal approach than when writing a standard essay. Draw relevant connections with our materials on pro wrestling when useful.
I will be doing Kendrick vs. Drake
