The Midterm Exam, to be completed online and worth 32% of your grade, covers units 1, 2, and 3, and consists of 60 MCQ and 4 short essay questions drawn from the study questions. The 60 MCQs and 4 short essay questions will be drawn equally from the material covered. The MCQs will be worth 1 point each and the study questions will be worth 5 points each for a total exam mark out of 80 points.
The Midterm Exam should be scheduled midway during your course.
You may not take the Midterm Exam before you have completed the appropriate set of unit quizzes. You will have 3 hours to complete the exam. You may not take notes, texts, phones, watches, or other materials into the examination room. If writing the exam with ProctorU, you may bring 1 or 2 sheets of blank paper but these will need to be vetted as per ProctorU’s policies.
If you are not satisfied with your grade on the Midterm Exam, you may write one supplemental Midterm Exam (note that there is an additional cost attached to this supplemental exam). Your supplemental exam must be written within 90 days of the date you wrote the original Midterm Exam, and your official grade for the Midterm Exam will be the higher of the two grades you received.
When you feel you are ready to take the Midterm Exam you may request it by using the telephone exam request system or the email exam request system, or by mailing in the examination request form. Please consult the Exams and Grades section under AU Undergraduate Calendar. Please be aware that the submission of your request needs to be made well in advance of the date on which you wish to take the exam. Please see Exam Deadlines for timeline requirements for requesting exams.
