Overview

In today’s fast-paced digital world, we are constantly bombarded with information from a variety of sources such as news sites, blogs, social media platforms, podcasts, and more. Not all this information is reliable, and being able to distinguish fact from opinion, bias, or misinformation is a crucial skill in both academic and real-world contexts. The ability to evaluate information critically is a skill that extends far beyond the classroom. In your personal life, it helps you make informed decisions, whether you’re choosing a health plan, voting in an election, or sharing content on social media. Professionally, these skills are equally essential: Employers value individuals who can back up their ideas with credible evidence, make sense of complicated issues, and avoid the pitfalls of misinformation in fields such as business, healthcare, education, technology, and beyond.

Below are five steps you can follow in order to download your Statement of Completion at the end of the Expert Evaluator Activity.

1. After you finish the Expert Evaluator Activity and submit your answers, you’ll see a “Thank You” screen with a message saying, “Congratulations—you’ve completed the Expert Evaluator activity!” On that screen, there’s a blue rectangular button at the bottom labeled “View Statement of Completion.” Click that button to get your statement of completion.

2.
Once you select the “View Statement of Completion” button, you will be taken to a screen that reads, “Expert Evaluator Statement of Completion” with an image of the Expert Evaluator logo (a magnifying glass over an investigative bulletin board).

3. Scroll down the page until you see the full statement of completion reading, “This acknowledges that [your name] has completed the Expert Evaluator Activity for

Click the PDF button.

4. The file called “Certificate of Completion Expert Evaluator.pdf” should now be in your computer’s Download folder.

5. Upload the file from your Download folder to the Module Six Activity section in your course. Once the certificate is uploaded to Brightspace, you can close out of the Expert Evaluator Activity.
