This discussion board helps your explore how your choice of topic, purpose, and audience can shape your writing style.
How we communicate in the classroom, work environment, at home, or on social media are often very different. The same goes for writing, your writing must fit the audience and intended purpose. In academic writing, your audience may be much different from you. They may have different values, beliefs, and life experiences that you must consider when writing to them.
In the reading, “Read the Room! Navigating Social Contexts and Written Texts” the authors indicate that “effective communication always requires contextual awareness. This is the social side of communication. In order to understand and be understood, one must learn to read the room” (Seely et al. 292). How will you “read the room” in your writing?

Please select one specific phone for this exercise. For example, don’t say you are considering buying an iPhone because there are many iPhones. Specify which exact iPhone model you are considering so that you can collect the information you need to make a reasoned judgment.
Also, you will not need to compare it to any other specific phones for this exercise. You should do this in the real-world, but this is just an exercise to see how well you understand the steps of the process of inquiry, so far. So, considering just one phone will suffice for our purposes.
We will be reviewing each of the steps in the process of inquiry in much more depth over the course of the semester. So, by the end of the semester, you should be able to see how much your critical thinking skills have grown by looking back on how you did on this assignment.
Answering parts of this question will require you to do research that is not simply your original ideas and common knowledge. So, you must provide both in-text citations and end references for all sources used, in MLA format.
