BUS 206 Module Four Journal Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Approach this journal assignment as an opportunity to reflect upon and apply what you learned from the assigned readings, discussions, and activities. It is also an opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise based on your educational and professional experiences in the past. As a successful professional, you will need good reflective and writing skills. Journal activities offer you the opportunity to further develop these skills.
In Module Four, you read about Samuel Bankman-Fried and FTX in the module Resources. In this journal, you will reflect upon the issues of CEO liability regarding the case described and in general.
Directions
Samuel Bankman-Fried marketed himself as a proponent of “effective altruism,” using his wealth to promote philanthropic causes. However, the collapse of FTX revealed significant mismanagement and the misuse of customer funds. Review the articles located in the Resources section of this module to address the following prompts:
- Do you think the CEOs and other corporate officers involved were justly held criminally responsible? Explain your perspective.
- Do you believe that the business can regulate itself to act ethically, or is government oversight necessary to protect the public from financial wrongdoing? Explain your position while providing specific examples.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
- Critical Thinking and Reflection: Explain relevant examples of previous learning with a logical thought process.
- Integration and Application: Demonstrate a depth of knowledge of the module content using relevant legal terminology.
What to Submit
Submit your assignment as a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and any sources cited in APA format.
