Research a minimum of four articles on the challenges of providing access to healthcare in the Kingdom for the population by considering patient demographics and geographic considerations. Explain the patient education strategies that are needed to overcome some of these challenges. Explain how this strategy supports the mission, vision, and values of Saudi Vision 2030. Summarize the benefits to Saudi patients, healthcare organizations, and healthcare providers.

Population Health in Saudi Arabia (110 points)
Leaders must stay abreast of healthcare trends in order to best serve the population they are
supporting. In recent decades, disease threats in Saudi Arabia have shifted from communicable
diseases to non-communicable diseases. The high prevalence of unhealthy lifestyles and
cardiovascular disease risk factors in the adult Saudi population support the need for enhanced
CQI programs in the population health arena. Saudi Vision 2030 has a major focus on
healthcare such as primary disease prevention and improving lifestyles.
Using the Saudi Digital Library, locate and read three scholarly journal articles on the role of
utilizing CQI initiatives to improve population health in Saudi Arabia.
Based on your readings, prepare a PowerPoint presentation describing your approach to
implementing CQI for a specific population health need, such as hypertension, diabetes,
preventative screenings, etc. Explain how as a leader you would engage key
stakeholders. Analyze how the key objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program
within the Vision Realization Program of Saudi Vision 2030 supports population health.
Your PowerPoint should meet the following requirements:
• Be 10-12 slides in length, not including the title or reference slides.
• Be formatted according to Saudi Electronic University and APA writing guidelines.
• Provide support for your statements with citations from a minimum of six scholarly
articles. These citations should be listed in the Notes section of the slide in which they
appear. Two of these sources may be from the class readings, textbook, or lectures, but
four must be external.
• Each slide must provide detailed speaker’s notes to support the slide content. These
should be a minimum of 100 words long (per slide) and must be a part of the
presentation. The presentation cannot be submitted in PDF format, which does not
make notes visible to the instructor. Notes must draw from and cite relevant reference
materials.

Insurance is based on pooling of losses, payment for random losses, risk transfer, and
indemnification. As a result, insurers use several different approaches to mitigate their risk and
set premium rates, including:
• the fee-for-service method
• the cost-plus approach
• population health – capitation
For your assignment, evaluate two global payment systems within healthcare and address each
of the following items:
• Define the structure of the payment systems.
• Identify risk to loss of revenue in each system.
• Describe advantages and disadvantages of each system.
• Identify how pay for performance can be added to each payment system.
