Use the following directions to analyze the case of State v. Newman on page 102 of your textbook. Be sure to include the legal elements of a crime in your analysis.

Directions

Each Case Study is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your grasp of the material in the book by applying it to actual legal cases. To complete your Case Study, you must:

  1. Summarize the facts of the case;
  2. Identify the primary legal issues in the case;
  3. Explain the courts rationale for its ruling, and why you agree or disagree with the ruling (support your opinion with fact and citations);

Format

Please use the following format for the Case Study:

  1. Use APA format and cite sources, as necessary. If you need a refresher on APA, reference the APA Learning Unit.
  2. Do your resources meet the CRAAP test? Review the CRAAP Test Reference page.
  3. Your answer must be a minimum of three (3) paragraphs of five (5) to seven (7) sentences.
  4. Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double spaced.
  5. All Case Studies should be submitted in PDF format.
