Question 2: Install OSs in virtual environment.
In this question, you have to install/enable a hypervisor and install two guest OS, a Linux
and a Windows Server. Do the following:
1. Download and install a type 2 hypervisor (VirtualBox or VMware Player) on your current
OS installation. Alternatively, you may enable the Hyper-V (type 1 hypervisor) on your
Windows 10. If you have Windows 10 Home edition, you may need to upgrade it to
Windows 10 Education edition.
2. Download Ubuntu Desktop 18.10’s .iso file from the Internet and install it on a VM that you
have created. You may choose any alternative Linux distro, e.g., Fedora, CentOS, etc.)
3. Create a free account on Download a free MS
Windows Server 2016 Standard’s .iso file using your free student Azure account, and install
it on a VM that you have created. I will accept any Windows Server version you may use.
Note: You should run them and take
screenshots of the running systems.
Question 3: Deploy and use virtual machine instances in the cloud
1. Create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account and deploy a Windows Server (or any
other Windows OS) and a Linux VM of your choice. Make sure you choose free tier options
only.
2. Create a free student Microsoft Azure account (If you do not have one yet) and deploy a
Windows Server (or any other Windows OS) and a Linux VM of your choice. Make sure you
choose free tier options only.
Do not forget to show visual evidence of the main actions you took to answer the questions.
