For this discussion, do all of the following:
- Look for evidence of stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men in popular media (e.g., news articles, magazines, advertisements, videos, music videos/lyrics, websites, podcasts, movies, TV shows). Provide at least two different examples. In other words, find at least two examples for one or more of the topics (i.e., stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men).
- Example 1: You may write about a victim blaming example you found in a TV show and another victim blaming example you read in a news article.
- Example 2: You may write about a movie that shows both gender stereotypes and rape culture.
- Example 3: You may write about an example of violence against men that you saw in a commercial and an example of racial/ethnic stereotyping you heard on a podcast.
- These three are simply examples. You do not need to choose one of them as an option.
- Then, in your post, discuss what you have found and how it shows (or how it is related to) stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men.
- Also, do you think there are movies or TV shows that do not contain the concerns/issues listed above?
- If so, include an example in your post and explain why it does not contain the concerns/issues listed above.
- If not, please explain why not and share your thoughts on this subject in your post.
Be sure to address all of the above questions/items in your post
