Overview
Over the past nine weeks, you have navigated a rigorous study schedule and application of your knowledge to various HR concepts and best practices. As this course draws to a close, you will reflect on your Week 1 discussion action plan concept and take it to the next level. To complete this assignment, you will formalize your personal action plan to complete the SHRM LS course, including the final LS exam. You will also develop a plan of action for keeping in touch with the SHRM organization(s) most convenient to you. As you may know, the SHRM CP exam is offered twice per calendar year. It will be up to you to decide when taking this exam best suits your schedule. Thinking through the scheduling process and discussing your SHRM CP exam preparations is an excellent strategic step to take at this point in your journey as an HR professional.
Instructions
To complete this assignment, create a 3 page personal action plan that addresses the following:
1. Reflect on the totality of your graded pre-test exam results (Week 3 – Competencies, Week 5 – People, Week 7 – Organization, and Week 9 – Workplace).
a. Address any remaining strengths or deficiencies demonstrated within your results.
b. Provide a response to the items you noted and any ideas you may have to improve deficiencies or capitalize on strengths.
2. Design a plan, containing three elements, on how you will utilize your remaining access period for the SHRM-CP Learning System.
a. You will have 15 months of access remaining from the SHRM-CP Learning System.
3. Determine when you plan on sitting for the SHRM-CP Certification test.
a. Provide a rationale for your proposed test-taking timeframe.
4. Evaluate the three local resources you identified in the Week 1 discussion to help you, as you moved through this course.
a. Assess your experience with these local resources and how you will continue to utilize them.
· For example, do you plan to join your local SHRM Chapter? Do you plan to volunteer at a non-profit specifically to help with HR duties? Might you seek out a local HR mentor?
5. Determine the intended benefits you hope to gain from continued interactions with the selected organization (s).
