Assignment
Scenario: Imagine that you are an expert in the various types of non-hospital options for birthing. You are passionate about using “natural birthing processes versus drug-induced birthing”.
What is the assignment? Your job is to do a presentation in any format to present the following information:
- You will make a comparison and then a contrast of two NON-hospital delivery options for birthing (i.e., free-standing birthing center, home birth with a midwife, orgasmic birth, water birthing, etc.). Criteria for comparison and contrast may include but are not limited to the following: cost, atmosphere, privacy, pre-and post-natal care options, mother/pregnancy match with birthing plan, policies on medical interventions such as episiotomies, availability of tubs for water births, separation of mother and infant, etc. DO NOT do a comparison with a hospital birth. Be thorough in the information you present in this project’s comparison and contrast components. Where did you obtain information for the assignment?
- Your information may be obtained from any credible source – you must credit the source and list it at the end of your project. How do you present the information and how is this assignment graded?
- Your information may be presented in any format (letter, memo, outline, brochure, PowerPoint, with graphics, pictures, etc.). Be thorough and be creative!
