  8. Your issue and target audience should be approved by instructor. Reach out to instructor if you’re having a hard time finding a topic, issue and/or belief.
  9. Read through the research (feel free to use a reading log to take notes) and summarize them in your own words.
  10. Identify what research will help you with what points/claims.

You may use only ONE (1) “internet-only” source.
  18. You must have an introduction with all five (5) components, three main points, and a full conclusion. Each main point has two sub points.  The evidence should be complete (as many sentences as needed) and have an in-text citation.
  19. The most important part of this speech is your original and innovative plan.  Your goal is to win audience support for your project. You must provide substantial detail about your plan design, implementation, and results. This section may have less cited evidence than other sections, as it is your own creation, but should still offer excellent support and a projection of your plan’s results.
  20. Use full sentences throughout the outline.  Run spell check when you are done.
  21. Allow plenty of time for the research, outline writing, and speech preparation.  The outline alone will take several hours to put together – don’t wait until the day before.
