1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 New Najran General Hospital was established in 1 Muharram 1435 as a general MOH
Hospital, located in Al-Shurfah, Najran with 200 bed capacity which provide individualized
patient care both inpatient and outpatient including emergency and intensive care setting of
various maladies on a paying and non paying basis. Patients are provided appropriate
procedures, treatments, interventions and care according to established policies, procedures,
protocols and order sets that have been developed to ensure patient safety and positive
outcomes.

To achieve together a healthy community with advanced excellence in healthcare
experiences.

Najran General Hospital, providing the highest level of excellence in a healthcare system
equipped to promote, uphold and restore the health of Najran population.

2.PATIENT POPULATION
2.1 New Najran General Hospital Provides Inpatient and Outpatients of both gender of all age
Groups from 1 month and above; and special cases of pediatric surgery are seen in
departments such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, urology and plastic surgery.
2.2 Pediatric Inpatient medical ward & Pediatric Intensive care unit provides inpatient care of
both gender of age groups 30days to 14years.
2.3 Total number of patients visited to the Hospital from 01/01/2023 until 31/12/2023 were
159,326. Total number of patients visited in ER from 01/01/2023 until 31/12/2023 were
84,886. Total number of patients seen in OPD 01/01/2023 until 31/12/2023 were 74,440.
With admission of 7,616. 2,433 Total Number of surgeries in which 1,094 were Day
Surgeries.
3. COMPLEXITY OF CARE
The Hospital offers various care services:
3.1 Department of surgery offers patient care in:
General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic surgery, Dental, ENT,
Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology & Thoracic surgery.
3.2 Department of Medicines provide services are;
Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Diabetic, Endocrinology, Dermatology,
Rheumatology, Pediatrics, Smoking Cessation Clinic, Nutrition Clinic, Early Diagnostic
Developmental & Behavioral Disorder and Developmental Dislocation Clinic.
3.3 Inpatient Surgical wards, Inpatient Medical Wards including COVID Isolation wards and
Inpatient pediatric ward.
3.4 Operating Room and Anesthesia Services.
Anesthesia clinic, Day surgery, emergency and elective surgery.
3.5 Respiratory care services: Management of Airway, mechanical ventilation, arterial line
procedures and respiratory physiotherapy in ICU and PICU.
3.6 Emergency department and EMT.
Basic Life Support, Rapid sequence intubation, Defibrillation, Synchronized
cardioversion, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life
Support, Hemodynamic Support, 24 hours’ ambulance services and Urgent care.
3.7 Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

5.WORKING HOURS
5.1 New Najran General Hospital, Provides services for;
5.1.1 All administrative staff working hours from 7:30 am to 4pm, Sunday to Thursday.
5.1.2 Provides emergency care 24hours a day, 2 shifts sharing 12hours, seven days a week and
other inpatient services, 3 shifts sharing 9 hours 30minutes.
5.1.3 9hours 30 minutes /day, 5 days/week, in outpatient clinic room 7:30 am to 12 noon and
from 1pm until 4:30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
5.1.4 All the staffs are required for sign in and out of duty through the attendance form
provided by the Attendance Monitoring NNGH.
6.QUALIFICATION OF STAFF
6.1 All the Administrative staffs are qualified professional according to their area of specialty and
accredited with Saudi council for Health Specialties.
6.2 All the physicians are certified medical graduates from various Universities.
6.3 All the physicians are registered with Saudi Council for Health Specialties.
6.4 All the physicians are Certified BCLS provider. Most of the physician are certified ACLS
Provider and pediatric specialty doctors are certified by PALS.

6.5 All the nurses are professional with relevant experiences.

Chapter 2: Internship activities
This is the main body of your report. During the internship period, the focus of the training may on the
following types of analysis and questions. You do not have to answer all the questions in the list: •
Describe your working conditions and functions, such as: Who is your supervisor (include his/her name
and his/her position); other team members or co-workers and what their functions are to complement
yours.
• Provide a detailed description about the department(s) that the trainee did her/his training with them.
Adding all sub-divisions for this department(s) if it is available. Student can add to this description a
supported chart.
• Detailed descriptions about all tasks and activities that the trainee did them during her/his training
period.
