Vision Statement for Change: “Transforming Saudi Arabian Airlines into the
centre of global aviation excellence, driven by cutting-edge innovation, superior
customer experience, and an empowered, motivated workforce.”
Evaluation of Vision
Clear, concise, and easily understood
The statement is straightforward, underlining the ambition of the organization
to be the best in aviation and attain this through innovation, customer service, and
employee engagement.
Memorable? Exciting and inspiring?
Yes, the aspirational tone of “excellence in global aviation” and “cutting-edge
innovation” sparks ambition and excitement in employees and stakeholders alike.
Challenging?
Being the “centre” of global aviation excellence takes a lot of effort, dedication,
and innovation, so the same organization is challenged to perform even above its total
capacity.
Excellence oriented?
The vision focuses on “excellence” regarding the core activities: aviation and
customer service.
Stable and flexible?
The vision keeps the pursuit of excellence steady, allowing innovation
flexibility and empowering the workforce for change (Chapter 4, slide 22).
Implementable and tangible?
The vision is grounded in innovation, customer service, and workforce
motivation, which can lead to concrete objectives and measures that are
implementable and tangible.
Promotes Change and Sense of Direction
The vision fosters radical development through the promise of Saudi Arabian
Airlines to be among the top players in the global aviation market through innovation,
customer experiences, and people empowerment. It produces clear direction by
identifying what to emphasize in this organization: aviation excellence, ingenious
innovations, and supreme services. This energizes the organization with new
standards and continuous improvement (Venus et al., 2019).
Provides a Basis for Strategy and Plan
The vision provides a sound basis for formulating an implementation strategy
and plan. Based on the areas of innovation, customer service, and engagement of
employees, the organization will be able to come up with specific, actionable steps.
For example, in using new technologies, mechanisms of receiving customers’
feedback, and leadership development programs for the staff. The vision outlines
goals, benchmarks, and timelines in an indicated manner to make all the efforts
toward attaining the overall objective of global excellence.
Provides Focus and Direction for Decision-Making
The vision provides clear focus and direction for the decision-makers of Saudi
Arabian Airlines. Emphasized here are aspects such as “global aviation excellence,”
“cutting-edge innovation,” and “superior customer experience,” on which leaders can
focus to make decisions that are in line with the core goals (Maran et al., 2021). As
expected, for instance, when investing in new technologies, the vision will lead
decision-makers to select innovations that will improve customer service or enhance
operational efficiency. It also fosters workforce-driven strategies; in other words, HR
and leadership decisions will focus on motivating and developing employees. The
vision is the constant reference point to ensure all decisions lead to the organisation’s
transformation (Venus et al., 2019).
Embraces Critical Performance Factors
The vision incorporates major performance factors that are significant in
ensuring the organisation’s success: innovation, customer service, and workforce
motivation. Each element has a critical effect on typical performance. Innovation will
permit the airline to stay competitive within the fast-changing industry. Ensuring a
superior customer experience will enable customer loyalty and market share. An
involved and knowledgeable workforce will improve productivity and quality of
service (Maran et al., 2021). The vision ensures that the organization addresses all
factors in realising long-term success.
Engages, Energizes, and Clarifies
Saudi Arabian Airlines’ vision is appealing and intriguing because it shows how
the company perceives itself and its desire to become a leading company in aviation
excellence. This picture evokes pride and ambition among its people. Emphasis on
high-end innovation and superior customer experiences clarifies areas of focus. The
excitement gets stirred up on the level of emotions because motivation abounds. The
employees can see themselves as part of a prestigious organization that sets specific
new industrial standards (Chapter 4, slide 18). This will be good for fostering a sense
of purpose and belonging, morale, and positive enthusiasm toward change (Venus et
al., 2019).
Promotes Commitment
The vision will probably ensure employee commitment because it speaks of
objectives through which personal and professional pursuits are effectively pursued.
Most people will be active supporters since the vision spells out their route to success
and their growth and development avenues. A few will give partial support since some
would need further explanation of how organisational changes affect them. However,
most of the resistance will come from those unwilling to change; that is when the
change disrupts the established routines.
Conclusion
The proposed vision for Saudi Arabian Airlines would transform the
organization into a globally leading aviation organization through innovation, superior
customer experience, and employee empowerment. The vision brings about change
and mapping and acts as a sound basis for building strategies. It explains critical areas
of performance. It motivates employees and creates enthusiasm. Besides, it provokes
commitment because staff will actively support the vision. Only the essential factors
of success and an energized workforce can ensure sustainable growth and
organizational excellence in the aggressively competitive aviation industry.
