· This task is an Individually written assessment.

You will be writing a 5-paragraph essay in on one of the following topics it must be well supported by sources:

1. Innovation in Retail: Explore how technology is revolutionizing the retail industry such as cashier less stores, AR/VR experiences, and personalized shopping. 

 

2. Business Ethics and Corporate Scandals: Present recent ethical dilemmas and corporate scandals, highlighting the importance of ethical leadership and compliance. 

 

3. Social Media Marketing Trends: Explore the latest trends in social media marketing, such as influencer marketing, live streaming, and the role of TikTok and Instagram. 

 

4. Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age: Highlight successful startups, innovation in technology, and strategies for aspiring entrepreneurs in the digital era. 

 

5. Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: Explore the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in corporate culture and how it impacts performance. 

 

  

6. Fashion and the Environment: Present the environmental challenges in the fashion industry, focusing on issues like fast fashion, textile waste, and sustainable practices. 

 

7. Women in Sports Business: Discuss the role of women in sports business, from athletes and executives to journalists and analysts. Explore challenges and opportunities in promoting gender diversity in the field. 

 

8. Global Sports Sponsorships: Explore the world of sports sponsorships, highlighting examples of successful partnerships and discussing the evolution of sponsorship deals in various sports.

Your essay must include a clear thesis statement. This is the last sentence of the Introduction paragraph which clearly states the three ideas you will write about in your essay. You must also structure the essay in the format looked at in class. THE APPENDIX PAGE IS MANDATORY. We will work on the appendix in class so prepare for that session.

· You must upload your word document via TurnItIn in Moodle. 

Formalities: 

· Write between 1000-1200 words.  

· Cover page, Index page, and References are excluded from the total wordcount.  

• Prepare an Appendix page (as explained and given to the class) to follow the Reference page.  Include
at least two quotes,
three
paraphrases and
two summaries. Include the original author’s work and then underneath it, write your paraphrase or summary 

· Font: Arial 12,5 pts.  

· Text alignment: Justified.   

· The in-text citations and Reference page in
Harvard referencing style

Submission: Via Moodle (Turnitin). Week 6. Sunday 17th of November 2024 by 23.59. 

Weight: This task is 30% of your total grade for this subject. 

 

It assesses the following learning outcomes: 

• Understand the differences between business and academic writing. 

• Illustrate an awareness of how to apply principles of proper referencing, paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting other authors’ work.

Student understands the task and provides minimum theory and/or some use of vocabulary.    The student demonstrates some understanding of the task and the investigative process but the research is a little scant and lacking in-depth analysis in places. 

Student understands the task and attempts to answer the question but does not mention key concepts or uses minimum amount of relevant vocabulary.    The student does not demonstrate a full understanding of the task and the investigative process.

The student has not been able to use relevant sources in an in-depth way.
