Anthropology Discussion

Every pedagogy is built on an anthropology: A theory of how human beings operate and learn. In other words, every approach to teaching humans starts with some idea of what it means to be human. Behaviorism, constructivism, even early childhood approaches like Montessori or Reggio Emilia all have ideas about how we should teach based on how human beings are designed.

Based on this week’s module, how would a Catholic anthropology influence the way we teach? Feel free to share specifics: How you would design lesson plans, organize a classroom, etc. based on what the Church teaches about human nature (i.e. our need for God, virtue, vocation, and community; the fact that humans are rational and free but also sinful; etc.).

You are strongly encouraged to reply to your peers.
