Argumentative Essay Instructions
Write an
Argumentative essay
of no fewer than 500 words (not including the References) on one of the topics from the list provided below:

Type of essay: Argumentative
II-Select
one of the following topics:
1.
Cigarette Smoking Should Be Banned.
2.
Should English Be the Official Language of the United States?
3.
Do You Support or Oppose the Death Penalty?
4.
All Zoos Should Be Closed.
5.
Should the Alcohol Drinking Age Be Increased or Decreased?
6.
Is Greater Gun Control a Good Idea?
III- The essay should have five (5)
paragraphs only in no fewer than 500 words and no more than 700 words. This is an essay, not a research paper.
IV-
The thesis statement must mention 2 points to support your claim.
You must underline it.
V-
The essay must have a counterargument paragraph. Use Argumentative Frame to word it correctly.
VI-
Format:
APA 7th edition
Only three headings will be needed: Title, Counterargument, and Conclusion.
VII- Support your evidence with at least 3 credible sources. Do NOT use Wikipedia as a source.
VIII- Include at least an in-text citation per paragraph, not including the Conclusion.
IX- Rough draft due date: Sunday, April 13 at 11:59 pm
X- Final draft due date: Sunday, April 20 at 11:59 pm
XI- Do not attach pictures or decorations of any kind (no bullets, or numbers either). Do not change the title (use the same topics I suggested) Submit your essays in WORD or PDF only.
XII- Entries in the References page should be alphabetized. Entries may not be over 10 years old.
The whole essay should be double-spaced and typed in 12 Times New Roman.
You MUST use the frame and template I attached in the class content to write your essays.
XIII- I will only accept UP TO 20% similarity. Essays assisted by any ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE software/tool/platform will not be accepted. Do NOT use ChatGPT, Grammarly or any translator to write your essays.
Go to the class content and click on the folder that contains information and documents on APA. You must use the template and frame attached there.
Late submissions will get an F.
This should be the structure of your final essay:
Paragraph 1-Introduction with thesis statement mentioning 2 points
Paragraphs 2 and 3- Explanation and development of 2 points stated in thesis statement
Paragraph 4- COUNTERARGUMENT and REFUTATION
Paragraph 5- Conclusion
