As the NSG290 ASN Practicum course reaches the mid-point, we have a good opportunity to reflect on clinical experiences from the first 8 weeks and share with peers. Please respond to each of the questions below. Your responses to each question should be substantive. No references are needed for this discussion thread, if you choose to use references, in-text citations, and references are needed. Citations and references must adhere to APA format if used.

Tell us about your current clinical environment. Is this a practicum or instructor-led clinical experience? Include information about the type of facility (without naming the facility), number of beds, staffing model, type of patients, etc. Provide details regarding your typical schedule and educational level of your preceptor, if applicable.
Describe a scenario where you felt particularly confident and competent. What situation were you faced with and how did you handle it? What specifically increased your confidence level? How did you arrive at the decisions you made, or what school experiences assisted you in making those decisions? What kind of feedback did you receive from your preceptor or instructor? Please do not include facility or patient identifiers.
Describe a situation where you felt ill-equipped, unsure, or scared. What about the circumstances led you to feel this way? How did you manage the situation? What resources were available to you and how did you approach asking for help? What were the outcomes? How might you handle the situation differently in the future? What additional instruction during your classes might have led you to make different decisions or feel less confident? Please do not include facility or patient identifiers.
