Create an 8-10-slide (not including a title slide and reference slide) PowerPoint presentation for school stakeholders educating them on the ASCA National Model’s four components: Define, Manage, Deliver, and Assess.

  • Discuss the ways in which the ASCA School Counseling National Model is important to the field of school counseling.
  • Describe the school counselor’s role in promoting academic success, career planning, and social/emotional development.
  • Describe the “Define” component of the ASCA National Model including the development and significance of school counseling program mission statements and objectives.
  • Describe the “Manage” component of the ASCA National Model including advocacy processes needed to address institutional and social barriers that impede access, equity, and success for clients.
  • Describe the “Deliver” component of the ASCA National Model including strategies for identifying and eliminating barriers, prejudices, and processes of intentional and unintentional oppression and discrimination.
  • Describe the “Assess” component of the ASCA National Model including the ways in which the school counseling program supports advocacy for access, equity and success for all students.
  • Describe the specific ways in which the ASCA National Model ensures access, equity, compassion, and success for all students. Refer to the GCU Statement on the Integration of Faith and Work document located in the topic Resources when completing this prompt.
