Assignment #5 Health Care Providers and Professionals
In Chapter 4 and in the Video for Providers and Professionals, the discussion is the various providers and professionals in healthcare and the function for each provider and professional. In the discussion, the idea that each of these providers and professionals have evolved over time to provide a service that is effective, efficient, and cost effective. Each provider and professional has an important part in providing effective care in the best timely manner possible and at a cost that allows all people to receive care in an era of increasing healthcare costs.
Scenario:
You are working for the Chicago Multi Faith Health program. In agreement with the program, your organization wants to establish a BIRTH TO 2-YEAR-OLD IMMUNIZATION clinic for the community located in an economically challenged neighbor where most of the people do not have any health care insurance or coverage for care. The clinic will just provide CHILDREN BIRTH TO 2 YEARS OLD immunizations ONLY
Your job is to identify the providers and/or professionals that will be needed to staff the clinic and to provide immunization care that is effective, efficient, and cost effective. Since financing this clinic is a significant issue, you are limited to only hiring three (3) healthcare providers and/or professionals.
For this assignment:
· Using the providers and professionals presented in the book and the video, Identify the three (3) specific healthcare providers and professionals that would be needed to provide immunizations to children aged Birth to 2 years in the community.
· For each provider and professional that you identify, describe IN DETAIL why that provider or professional is needed for this clinic as the means of justifying your choice of provider/professional. In other words, why are they needed to provide the service in this community? Remember to connect the provider/professional to the scenario presented above. Think about what this community needs in terms of immunization delivery. Don’t discuss in general terms….. make it connect to the community that is being served. Don’t just list the activities that they perform!
· Present material in a grammatically correct and scholarly matter
· Utilize APA citation style for any source of information that you utilized for this assignment.

Remember there are no right and wrong answers in the general sense if that person is doing a job for which they are educated, certified and licensed. (If you tell me that an RN nurse is writing prescriptions—yes that is wrong). What is most important is that you justify/support the inclusion of that provider and professional for the specific purpose of the care for this community and the purpose of the clinic. Just listing the qualifications and activities that they perform is notjustification.
