Assignment 8 – Managing or Leading?

Students will read the two (2) Steve Keating articles below and then watch the video from Simon Sinek regarding leadership, management and empathy. After completing these instructions, students will complete the following:

1. Based on the two articles, students are to write a one-page reflection on their thoughts regarding the difference between being a “Manager” and being a “Leader”. Please also include your own experience with these two types of supervisors.

2. After watching the first 8:30 minutes of the video, students are to write an additional one-page reflection regarding Simon Sinek’s thoughts on leadership. Please include your three (3) favorite moments from his presentation and why they resonated with you.

Also, please note that you do not have to watch the remaining 20 or so minutes of the video unless you want to. However, it is an excellent review of the current status of the workforce.

Please submit both pages in one file when submitting to Canvas.
