· Present a brief verbal summary of the topics in the prompt questions below. Be sure to include the following information:
· What is a zoonotic disease?
· What is mpox?
· What are the characteristics of mpox – specifically:
· What type of pathogen causes mpox – is it a bacterial infection? A fungus? A virus?
· How is mpox related to smallpox?
· What are the symptoms of mpox?
· How is mpox spread to others?
· Are there any current treatments for mpox infection?
· What is “ring” vaccination? Is this the same as “herd immunity”?
· There are currently two FDA-approved vaccines for mpox mentioned in the reading material.
