Blog Task
Daily Grade 5: Written Message 3 Preparation
Purpose: The main purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for Written Message
3 by having you familiarize yourself with blog post writing style and analyzing some key
details in the Written Message 3 Assignment.
Directions: Save a copy of this document to your Google drive by clicking File–Make a
copy in the upper left corner. Then rename it DG5 JDoe *** (use your first initial and last
name; replace the asterisks with your section code shown on Banner, such as XA1, XM,
WWW or WW1). Complete each part below as directed, and share the completed
document with your instructor by the deadline shown on Canvas. Delete this paragraph
and the one above it after you’ve read them both carefully; please leave the Daily Grade
5 title in place.
PART 1: You will write a blog post as part of Written Message 3. A blog is an online
publication that contains multiple posts (similar to articles but typically written by people
who work for the company). Read the first four blog posts within the Sample Blog
Posts item on Canvas, choose one of the blog posts you read, and write a few
sentences briefly summarizing the blog post’s purpose and target audience. State which
post you’re referring to by starting your summary with The Southwest Airlines blog post
about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure… or Reebok’s blog post on yoga poses… When you
mention the target audience, do so by determining what common value or interest the
audience members share. Also explain how the content in the blog post you chose
relates to the company itself. To do that, familiarize yourself with the companies
(Salesforce, Southwest Airlines, Reebok and Zen Business) by visiting their home page
to better understand what they do. Strive to write approximately five sentences (more
is fine) in your summary.
