Case Study: FemTech
For this case study assignment, I am asking you to take a deep dive and consider the role of FemTech, an emerging sector that includes companies using digital health technology to address pressing health issues, especially for underserved populations. Ida Tin, founder of the Clue app, founded the term “FemTech” which has been defined as “A range of technology-enabled, consumer-centric products and solutions” (Kemble et al., 2022). You will have an upcoming assignment on health inequalities (more details on that soon). Use this current case study assignment to help you figure out which health inequalities matter the most to you and you feel most passionate about.
In order to succeed in this assignment, you will need to review
Module 2: Global Health Resources
and review all the content listed under “FemTech.” This case study has 6 questions. The only citation required of you is in Part A (in-text and full reference at the end) and you should also reply to two classmate’s posts. In order to ensure you receive the grade you have earned, remember to number your responses so it is clear to me which question you are answering. Part A
1. Summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the FemTech sector. (
100 words minimum, 1 citation required, 2 points)
2. What are your personal thoughts/opinions on FemTech? Is this an area that you think is important/interesting/problematic? Explain why.

also lists several interesting companies you may want to focus on. If you are having trouble picking one, you may want to think about any people in your life who may be struggling with a health condition and see if you can focus on that topic area. Connecting your course assignments to something applicable to you and/or the people in your life can help them become quite meaningful assignments.
