Comprehensive Classroom Management Plan (Draft)
Overview: This draft allows you to organize your ideas, receive formative feedback, and refine your thinking before submitting the final version of your classroom management plan. You’ll demonstrate how well you can apply course theories and strategies to your teaching context and support your decisions with research.
Instructions:
Submit a working draft of your Classroom Management Plan that includes the following required components:
1. Teaching Beliefs and Philosophy
· What are your core beliefs about teaching, learning, and behavior?
· How do your beliefs influence your management decisions?
2. Classroom Environment and Structure
· Describe your physical and emotional classroom setup.
· Include routines, procedures, and expectations.
3. Proactive Behavior Supports
· What strategies will you use to prevent behavior problems?
· How will you build relationships and create engaging lessons?
4. Acting-Out Cycle Response Plan
· Describe your planned responses for each phase: Calm, Trigger, Agitation, Acceleration, Peak, De-escalation, and Recovery.
· Use at least one acting-out scenario to illustrate how your plan works in practice.
5. Cultural Responsiveness and Equity Considerations
· How will your plan reflect culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices?
· What steps will you take to ensure fair, inclusive discipline?
6. Connection to Theory and Research
· Cite at least 3 course readings or frameworks to justify your decisions.
Draft Guidelines
· Use clear headings for each component.
· This draft does not need to be perfectly formatted or finalized.
· Submit at least 4–5 full pages of content for feedback.
· You may submit as a Word or PDF document.
Prompting Questions for Self-Review
· Have I clearly explained my beliefs and how they shape my classroom choices?
· Are my strategies specific and actionable?
· Is my plan responsive to diverse needs?
· Have I addressed how I will respond at different points in the acting-out cycle?
· Where might I need more clarity, evidence, or examples?
