MGMT 302: Company Analysis Assignment
– Submit a COMPANY ANALYSIS (including strengths & weakness).
● Write a detailed analysis of the company for which you are working. For Forage: Please
choose the company of the program you completed. Search for relevant information on
the company website and through news articles. Include this company analysis in your
final report. It should include:
i. The background of the company or business.
ii. The companiesMission Statement or Values Statement if available.
iii. Organizational structure. Include the companies’ organizational chart if
available. Create an organizational chart showing the department / area in
which you are working. Show your position, that of your immediate
supervisor and the position of the person your immediate supervisor reports
to.
iv. Description and location of the specific propertywhere you are working.
v. Primary competition for your business in the immediate area. This means
specific competition you believe is a threat to your business, not simply
another restaurant or hotel.
vi. The company/corporate “culture” as it relates to employees and
guest/customers.
vii. Analyze your supervisor’s “management style”; cite specific behavioral
examples.
viii. Describe and give examples of the operational controls in place for the
department that you work for. This could be food & beverage cost controls,
labor cost controls, sales comparison worksheets, etc.
ix. Write a narrative critical evaluation of at least 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses
for the business where you are doing your internship. (These are
“opportunities” you believe that the business should capitalize on or
opportunities for improvement.) If you were the owner or manager, what
things “run well” and should be continued, and what things are “not running
well” and need to be improved or changed. Explain your rationale and make
“realistic” recommendations for improvement. How could this business be
more successful?

have learned in the various content disciplines during your studies in the
Management Program.
