Use of Scholarly Sources
Identify the scholarly sources you used to support your evaluation of the treatment. Be sure to refer to the Week 5 resources as needed and use APA-formatted in-text citations. Which article(s) did you use to: (1) Describe the procedure and identify the pro and con? (2) Evaluate whether the treatment is evidence-based and behavior-analytic, (3) Support your explanation of how to communicate the importance of using evidence-based, behavior-analytic strategies? Consider what soft skills may be needed when communicating with families or colleagues.
Reflection of the Conversations
Reflect on your thoughts and feelings if you were to have these conversations in real life. Consider how it might feel to explain that requested treatment cannot be implemented. Support your reflection with scholarly sources related to soft skills and communication. Use APA-formatted in-text citations. Compare your experience when speaking with a colleague versus a family member. What emotions, concerns, and priorities might arise in each situation? How do these compare? What strategies would help you manage your thoughts and feelings during these conversations? How would your communication approach differ between the two audiences (e.g., tone, word choice, interpersonal/soft skills)?
