Important! This is the first of several Critical Thinking assignments that will build the foundation for a research paper due in Module 12.

In research, you should select research articles that are peer-reviewed and, in most instances, are not more than five years old. When searching in the Saudi Digital Library, you can limit the results by publication date and peer-reviewed journals so that you get the most recent, credible research on the topic (see the image below). You can then look for those results that allow you to access the full text.

Find 10 peer-reviewed articles to research one of the following topics of interest to you:

This will be the topic that you will write about in the final research paper due in Module 12.

At least five articles should be empirical studies. Look for the theory that the study uses to identify the hypothesis that is formulated. See the following article on theory in healthcare:

Summarize each of the three AI ethics approaches discussed in the article, “Reflections on Putting AI Ethics into Practice: How Three AI Ethics Approaches Conceptualize Theory and Practice”.

Evaluate how each AI ethics approach bridges the gap between theoretical ethical frameworks and practical implementation in real-world AI systems.

Reflect on your own perspective regarding the integration of ethics into AI development based on your analysis of the three approaches.

In this course, you will have six Critical Thinkings where you will respond to assignment questions to develop an essay. Essays have an introduction (to the topic of the assignment), a body (where you will integrate your responses), and a conclusion (your thoughts on the assignment). Please do not just answer the questions as is. It is best to use APA (7th ed) headings to capture the essence of the questions as a way to make sure you have integrated all of the responses in your essay. Also, make sure you are using an APA (7th ed) paper template as a starting point.

Your well-written essay should meet the following requirements:

Be 4-5 pages in length, which does not include the title page, abstract, or required reference page, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.

A case study is a puzzle to be solved, so before reading and discussing the specific case questions below, develop your proposed solution by following these five steps:

Read the case study to identify the key issues and underlying issues. These issues are the principles and concepts of the course module which apply to the situation described in the case study.

Record the facts from the case study which are relevant to the principles and concepts of the module. The case may have extraneous information not relevant to the current course module. Your ability to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information is an important aspect of case analysis, as it will inform the focus of your answers.

Describe in some detail the actions that would address or correct the situation.

Complete this initial analysis and then read the case study questions that follow here. Typically, you will already have the answers to the questions but with a broader consideration. At this point, you can add the details and/or analytical tools required to solve the case.
