DB TASK: Write a 300-500 word reflection in response to this assignment prompt. Your response to this discussion post should try to create a reflection that engages with as many questions as possible, in mini-essay form, while also creating a foundation for how you think about and respond to your peers’ posts.

First, locate an article on the world wide web (using Google, Firefox, Safari, other web browsers), about present day vampire literature, rhetoric, film, or media that connects to Nick Marshall’s play, “The Blood is Love”. The article can be a progressive news article, op-ed article, satircal piece (satire), social commentary, etc., as long as it makes connections to vampires and vampire literature.

After reading and reviewing this article, explain why this article can work well with the other textual material in this class. What’s the topic of the article? What’s the message? What is the author (or authors) trying to emphasize in this piece? What’s the takeaway? How does this article further your thinking and preparation for our class discussions? What should we do with an article like this? Why does it matter? What terms, words, or phrases did you use in order to locate this article? Why does that matter? How does the article create meaing within the culture of vampire literature? How did you gain new understanding of vampire literature by working with this text, after reading the assigned works for today?

Offer your thoughts and thinking about conducting this preliminary act of research, as a way to make a text-to-world connection between the texts we’ve worked with thus far. For instance, how does this article make you further reflect on Audre Lorde’s “Love Poem”? Or, even further, how does this article also make you think further about the cultural piece, “The True Myth: The Story of Lilith”?

Please share your thinking and reflection, especially if it includes personal connections, experiences, and stories. Also, please include the article hyperlink (web link), in-text citations and quotes, and please cite the article via MLA 8th Edition Format, at the bottom of your post.
