Your response to this discussion post should try to create a reflection that engages with as many questions as possible, by answering them in paragraph form/mini-essay, while also creating a foundation for how you think about and respond to your peers’ posts.

DB Prompt: In your literary and media experiences, how have you come to understand certain narratives and ideas that are centered around vampire literature, gothic or sci-fi fiction, etc.? What type of access have you had to reading or viewing vampire (or vampire-like) stories? How did your ideas or understanding about vampires (or the vampire craze) come to light? What did you learn? What do you remember? Where did you learn about vampire narratives or its literary history? What are some of the themes or messages that you see working in the stories or literary identities of vampires? In other words, why do vampires still receive so much popular/public reception, and why do you think we are still drawn to them as a social society? How could you describe your understanding of the literary popularity of vampire culture, across texts, medias, and other cultural productions? Are there any specific texts you have read or films you have watched that fit into the genre of vampire fiction? What was your perception of this text?
