 The microneedle study done at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University was a controlled study where participants were divided into 4 groups. Explain what a controlled study is and why it is necessary to use this method when determining the safety and effectiveness of the microneedles. 

 Using your knowledge of the dermal layer of the skin, explain the structures in that layer that make it an ideal method of distributing a vaccine – include structures involved in the immune response in your answer.

 Of the reasons listed as benefits for using microneedles as a method to deliver vaccines, explain which TWO reasons you find most important for using this method. 

 Using the anatomy of the skin, subcutaneous layer and musculature of the upper arm, explain why the microneedle method of delivering a vaccine can use needles much shorter than those used in traditional  vaccination methods. What advantages does the size of the needles have in applying the vaccine?

Vocabulary –  2 point

Grammar – proper grammar is used in the formal writing, including response to other students’ posts.  This is a formal piece of writing, not just bullet points. 4 points

Citations – proper APA or MLA citations used, simply supplying the url is not a correct citation  2 points

Any posts made late will result in late points penalty, any replies made after grading will not be accepted.
