I chose the “National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) – Florida because of its mission and target population—children, youth, and families. This program offers various services, including therapy, foster care, and family support, serving both populations with and without disabilities. However, I will focus on foster care services as a specific area for this course. I am interested in the types of services provided by this program and their impact on the population served (National Youth Advocate Program, s.d).

This program supports children, youth, and families. It is family-centered and community-based, meaning they are committed to supporting families through community resources. Foster care services are a core part of NYAP – Florida. Their goal is to place children and youth in safe, temporary homes, offering opportunities for growth and safety. The intended outcomes include creating a secure, nurturing, and enriching foster environment for children and youth, while families work through challenges to reunite (National Youth Advocate Program, s.d).
Information Gathering for the Logic Model:
Inputs: foster care parents, high-level training, parenting support, employees, and other resources.
Activities: recruiting and training foster care parents, and providing ongoing support through regular visits.
Outputs: children and youth placed in foster homes with caring, trained, and dedicated parents who support their growth and safety.
Outcomes: number of children and youth in foster care, training sessions conducted, foster parents recruited, and visits made each month.
Based on the program’s objectives, the short-term goal is to provide foster care and a safe environment; the intermediate goal is to strengthen family dynamics and address underlying challenges; and the long-term goal is family reunification (National Youth Advocate Program, s.d).
Ethical considerations:
Client confidentiality is maintained according to agency policies and laws. Only authorized personnel have access to personal information. The guiding ethical principles are integrity, transparency, respect for persons, and adherence to policies and laws. No potential conflicts of interest are identified.
Information Missing:
The website lacks specific data on the number of youth served, particularly in Florida. Some annual reports reference the nationwide organization, which hampers precise outcome measurement. I will compare the nationwide data with other available foster care data in Florida.
