For this assignment, you will create a sample case study, through which you will demonstrate application of various principles of applied behavior analysis in a practice setting of your choice. The hypothetical client you identify should demonstrate the need for a skills-based assessment to address the primary area of intervention, as opposed to an emphasis on problem behavior reduction. The case scenario will consist of the following components:

  • Identify a hypothetical client, including setting for service delivery, age, and any diagnoses related to the need for behavior analytic services
  • Describe the reason for referral, including socially significant areas of intervention that you choose to address through your treatment delivery
  • Summarize hypothetical assessment results, including an overview of the assessment(s) conducted and the findings related to implications for treatment planning
  • Summarize key items from the BCBA 5th edition task list that you will utilize within your behavior analytic treatment
  • Develop a treatment plan to guide the implementation of these behavior analytic principles in an applied setting

The assignment will be formatted as follows: Part 1 – 2-3-page paper 

  • Identify a hypothetical client, including setting for service delivery, age, and any diagnoses related to the need for behavior analytic services
  • Describe the reason for referral, including socially significant areas of deficit that you choose to address through your treatment delivery
  • Summarize hypothetical assessment results, including an overview of the assessments conducted and the findings related to implications for treatment planning
  • Summarize at least (3) key items from the BCBA Task List (5th ed.) that guide your behavior analytic treatment

Part 2 – Sample Treatment Plan

  • Provide client-specific details in each of the following sections of the Treatment Plan template:
    • Client Background and Baseline Functioning Levels
    • Assessment Choices and Summary of Hypothetical Results
    • Recommended Treatment Dosage and Schedule
    • Skill Acquisition Goals
    • Behavior-Analytic Strategies and Techniques
    • Coordination of Care Plan
    • Discharge Plan

Your assignment should be a 2–3 page in length, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:

  • Title page: Provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.
  • Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.
    • Your responses should reflect professional writing standards, using proper tone and language. The writing and writing style should be correct and accurate, and reflect knowledge of skills and practice of the profession.
  • Reference page: Sources listed in current APA format.
    • Include a minimum of three scholarly or academic sources to support your responses and conclusions.
  • Use Arial or Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced and left aligned.
  • Use standard 1″ margins on all sides.
  • Use current APA formatting and citation style.
