Look for evidence of stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men in popular media (e.g., news articles, magazines, advertisements, videos, music videos/lyrics, websites, podcasts, movies, TV shows). Provide at least two different examples. In other words, find at least two examples for one or more of the topics (i.e., stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men).
- Example 1: You may write about a victim blaming example you found in a TV show and another victim blaming example you read in a news article.
- Example 2: You may write about a movie that shows both gender stereotypes and rape culture.
- Example 3: You may write about an example of violence against men that you saw in a commercial and an example of racial/ethnic stereotyping you heard on a podcast.
- These three are simply examples. You do not need to choose one of them as an option.
Then, in your post, discuss what you have found and how it shows (or how it is related to) stereotyping, rape culture, victim blaming, and/or violence against men.
Also, do you think there are movies or TV shows that do not contain the concerns/issues listed above?
