Project Title: Organizational Safety Audit and Improvement Plan
Project task

For this group project, all students need to create group of not more than 2 members, the
members must collaborate and contribute to writing a report on the Organizational Safety Audit
and Improvement Plan by following the instructions below. Once the report is ready, the team
leader should submit it via LMS (Email Submission will not be acceptable). Please note that only
one submission is required from the team. The submission’s due date is the Wednesday 19rd
October, 2025, 11:59pm.
Project Overview
Students will conduct a comprehensive safety audit for an organization to identify potential
hazards and risks in the workplace. Based on their findings, they will provide detailed
recommendations to improve safety and propose practical solutions to address the identified
risks. The goal is to encourage students to apply their knowledge of occupational safety and
health management principles to create a safer work environment.
Project report structure:
Your submission should follow the below structure:

o List all the headings and sub-headings with their page numbers.

 Introduction
1. Organization Overview:
o Choose an organization and provide a brief description, including industry type, size, and
nature of operations.
o Highlight key areas that are critical to the organization’s safety, such as production lines,
office spaces, warehouses, or fieldwork environments.
2. Identification of Hazards and Risks:
o Conduct a safety audit, focusing on identifying the various types of hazards present in the
organization. Include at least three types of hazards from the following categories:

Physical hazards (e.g., noise, lighting, temperature, slips, and falls)

Health hazard (e.g., exposure to harmful substances)

Chemical hazards (e.g., exposure to harmful substances)

Biological hazards (e.g., exposure to infectious agents)

Ergonomic hazards (e.g., poor workstation design, repetitive strain)

Psychosocial hazards (e.g., stress, workplace violence)

Mechanical hazards (e.g., machine-related injuries)

3. Risk Assessment:
o For each hazard identified, assess the associated risks in terms of severity and likelihood.

o Summarize how the suggested improvements will enhance organizational safety.

Reference list
o List all the sources used to form your arguments. In-text citations should be also
done within the report.

Deliverables:
o A detailed report (1500-2000 words) covering all the above tasks.
o A presentation (4-6 slides) (5 marks) summarizing key findings and recommendations,
each student will present one slide of their contribution to the project and will be marked
on individual basis.
Important: It is advised to fairly divide the workloads between all members of the group.
Remember, the expectation is that teams must prepare a report with Presentation slides. All team
members will have to create and deliver a presentation of their contribution to the project and
their report.

This Project activity has 20 marks (15 Marks for the Project report and 5 for the
Presentation).

Only one submission is required per team. So, the team leader should submit the report
via LMS. There is no need for each student to submit the report.

The assignment should be submitted via LMS by 19 October, 2025, 11:59pm
(Email Submission will not be acceptable).


There will be a 10%-mark deduction for each day late submission and after five days
late, the submission will not be accepted for marking.
It is a group project, and all the team members should have contributions.

Non-contributing team members will receive ZERO marks.

The word count is 1500-2000 (excluding the title page, table of contents, and reference list).

The writing should be free from any editing, spelling, and grammatical errors.

Citation and referencing are required. For any arguments taken from other sources,
the student needs to acknowledge, cite, and present the source in the reference list.


All the group reports should be typed in a Word file using the font type of Times New
Roman with font size 12.
Headings should be bold with a font size of 14.

The line spacing should be 1.5. It should be left aligned.

The writing should be in paragraph format.

Teams need to do external research to support their arguments. So, please refer to slides,
book, reference materials, and online sources to complete your report.
 All the project reports will go through a plagiarism check which is a text matching
software. So, there should be no copying and pasting from other sources and teams should
not share their writings. If found the submission will receive ZERO mark.
For the PowerPoint Presentation, the range for the slide is between 5 to 6 slides.
