Planning to Write your Ethical Considerations for X Agency, Staff Study
[WLOs: 1, 2] [CLOs: 2, 3, 4, 5]
This week’s assignment is designed to help you prepare to write your final project. Your final project is divided into two major elements across Weeks 4 and 5.
In Week 4, you will record a professional presentation of your findings to a simulated Congressional sub-committee hearing via video. This will be a high-level overview, summarizing the findings in your written report, which is due in Week 5. In addition, in Week 4 you will provide a draft of your written Ethical Considerations for X Agency, Staff Study (and in turn review the drafts of two of your peers’ papers) in preparation for turning in a polished, professionally-written Staff Study in Week 5.
For the purposes of these linked assignments, you have just been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Ethics Officer. You will need to conduct a thorough evaluation of the state of ethics at your agency and report on your findings. You will (at your discretion) write about either a Homeland Security or Emergency Management agency. Select an agency or office within the Department of Homeland Security from the organizational chart below.
