Through internships, students can apply their academic knowledge to real-world
situations and gain insights and practical experience that are impossible through classroom
instruction alone. My public health department internship at Alamal Hospital in Al Madina
was a rewarding experience that changed my career goals and expanded my knowledge of
public health operations.
Lessons Learnt
I put a few ideas and abilities I had learned in school to use while working at Alamal
Hospital. My epidemiology and public health studies helped me understand disease
prevention and control techniques essential in administering hospital-based public health
projects. Using the techniques I learned in my health promotion studies, I created and carried
out educational initiatives to raise community health awareness. My classes taught me
