Introduction
In this task, you will apply your knowledge of cultural awareness and ethics to explore the relationship between bias, cultural understanding, and ethical responsibility. This task will support developing the skills needed to navigate and positively affect real-world situations, personally and professionally. Maintaining ethical standards and possessing cultural competence is essential when engaging with diverse groups of people.
In part A, you will select one of the real-world case studies that has examples of implicit and explicit bias. You will analyze the impact of bias and the cultural and ethical aspects of the situation described in your chosen case study. You will also propose strategies that could be used to enhance cultural awareness and meet ethical responsibility based on the situation presented in the case study.
In part B, you will examine bias in your own life, as bias is a normal part of the human experience. You will answer questions about personal bias and develop strategies for addressing bias in various aspects of life and professional practice. You will also propose strategies to improve your own cultural and ethical awareness.
