Unit III PowerPoint Presentation

From Instructor

Your presentation for Unit III is a case study on eHermes, which requires you to incorporate information on IoT and the specific needs of eHermes. In order to ensure that your presentation is well-organized, it should include an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.

If I were doing this assignment, I would have the following. Please note that I chose MongoDB

– Slide Introduction:

· Introduce yourself

· Overview of the Internet of Things

· Introduce database solution that can handle real-time data streaming from IoT and analytics.

· Scope of the study (for example: In this presentation, I will be discussing the benefits of switching to a NoSQL real-time database solution, introducing MongoDB as a leading solution in the market, and explaining how adopting MongoDB can give eHermes a competitive advantage.)

– Slide 1: Introduction to IoT

· Definition

· Examples of IoT

· Brief overview of IoT’s use at eHermes

– Slide 2: The need for real-time database solution for IoT

· Explain eHermes’ goal: Enable personel to view & query security

· Real time data collection, storage and analysis in IoT systems

· Explain eHemes’ challenges:

· traditional database systems are not fit to handle the demands of data from IoT

·

· Explain eHemes’ opportunity:

· Introduction of NoSQL and real time demands

– Slide 3: Introduction to MongoDB

· Brief overview of MongoDB as a leading NoSQL real-time database application

· Explanation of MongoDB’s features, including scalability, flexibility, and high performance for real-time data processing

· Discussion of MongoDB’s suitability for real-time data analytics in IoT systems

– Slide 4: Advantages of MongoDB for eHermes

· How MongoDB can help eHermes store mobile self-driving video footage and metadata in the same database

· How MongoDB can support real-time data streaming and analytics for eHermes personnel

· How MongoDB can improve eHermes’ efficiency and effectiveness in data management

– Slide 5: Competitive advantages of MongoDB for eHermes

· How MongoDB can help eHermes remain competitive in the market

· How real-time data analytics can provide eHermes with valuable insights for decision-making

· How MongoDB’s scalability, flexibility, and high performance can support eHermes’ growth and expansion

– Slide Conclusion

· Summary of the key points discussed in the presentation

· Emphasis on the importance of adopting a NoSQL real-time database solution for eHermes

· Final recommendation for MongoDB as the best solution for eHermes’ needs

From Syllabus

For decades, relational databases remained essentially unchanged; data was segmented into specific chunks for columns, slots, and repositories, also called structured data. However, in this Internet of Things (IoT) era, databases need to be reengineered because the very nature of data has changed. Today’s databases need to be developed with the needs of IoT in mind and have the ability to perform real-time processing to manage workloads that are dynamic. For example, relational databases should be able to work with real-time data streaming and big data (an example was presented in the unit lesson).

Scenario: eHermes wants their personnel to be able to view security video footage in real-time and provide them with the ability to query video footage for viewing. Choosing a database solution such as MongoDB would allow eHermes to store mobile self-driving video footage in the same database as the metadata.

To do this, eHermes needs a way to manage the demands of real-time data streaming for real-time analytics. Conduct some research for a NoSQL database application such as MongoDB or Cassandra that could meet this need. How would switching to a real-time database solution help eHermes remain competitive? Create a PowerPoint presentation that does the following:

Provides a brief introduction to IoT.

Presents an argument to the eHermes CEO that switching to a more dynamic database structure (NoSQL real-time database) will meet the demands of IoT.

Introduces some features of the database you chose, whether it is MongoDB, Cassandra, or another database.

Describes how switching to a more dynamic database will give eHermes a competitive advantage?

Your presentation must be a minimum of six slides, and you must use at least two academic resources. Any information from a resource used must be cited and referenced in APA format.
