Job Analysis

As a leader in business and industry, you will need to have a deep understanding of the functional aspects of your organization.

In this case, you have been asked by your employer to conduct a job analysis for a managerial position yet to be created. The organization is evolving and the current leadership is developing a managerial structure to better adapt to changing demands on the organization. Your analysis will provide essential information for this role in your division.

Within your organization, pick a department and conduct a job analysis for a managerial position that you would like to create or redesign.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word proposal for the new position.

Include the following in your proposal:

  • Describe the current position.
  • Summarize the limitations of the current position.
  • Recommend changes for better alignment of this position with the organizational structure.
  • Include a new job title and description for the position.
  • Explain the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for success in the new position.
  • Explain how this position will evolve as the organization becomes more global in its interaction with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Summarize how the revised position will support your division.
  • Recommend organization strategies for recruiting diverse talent, including diversity of thought, into this position.

Be sure to apply concepts of organizational strategies to develop effective models for strategy formulation and implementation within the global marketplace.

Note: Do not limit your thinking of diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability; instead, consider how this position will need to bring a diversity of knowledge, skills, abilities, etc., to the organization and the global work environment.

Follow doctoral writing style standards.

Cite at least 3 academic sources to support your assignment.

Format your citations according to APA guidelines.
