What are your goals for practicum?

·
What are your goals for the first day?

My goals for the first day were to adjust to new people, feel confident, and just take in as much information as I could. I hope to get more comfortable with each day and try not to get too overwhelmed.

·
What do you hope to achieve by the end of the session?

I just hope to feel more knowledgeable with each rotation. I hope to not only see my own growth but also have reassurance from peers and preceptors that they can see growth over each session. I am eager to start this next chapter of becoming a great nurse practitioner and providing excellent patient care.

Review the

Family Nurse Practitioner Practicum Procedures and Experiences ListLinks to an external site.Links to an external site.

. How can you use this document to help guide your first clinical rotation?

This guide will be a helpful tool in exposing myself to the experiences and procedures that I need to be participating in at my clinic sites. I want to participate in as many procedures as possible in order to gain the experience before getting out of school and preparing to practice.

3.
Discuss your feelings about starting your first practicum rotation:

·
How do you expect the experience will compare to undergraduate clinical rotations? What qualities will be the same, and what will be different?

As an undergrad, I feel I was significantly more nervous because I had not been exposed to much in the healthcare environment. Now that I have been a nurse for 10 years, I feel as though I have a solid foundation of knowledge. Regardless, I still realized I have so much more to learn and going from a nurse to a clinician is a whole different realm.

·
What adjectives describe how you will meet the opportunities and challenges of your practicum?

Resilient, confident, persevering, enthusiastic, caring, determined. These are a few that come to mind when thinking about my clinical experiences and the qualities it will take for me to be successful.

·
Identify two factors that may bar your success in completing clinical requirements. Identify two facilitators to overcome the identified barriers and support your success in completing clinical requirements.

Two factors that could potentially bar my success in my clinical requirements would be time management and not utilizing my resources. I realize that I am still working full time and I have three kids. I will have to be very mindful of my time and using it with purpose. I must ensure I am logging my cases in a timely manner and do my best not to get behind. Furthermore, if I do not reach out for assistance or use the resources that are available to me could also hinder my success

4.
The use of evidence-based guidelines is essential for practice. Discuss three resources will you use in the clinical setting to identify the most recent clinical practice guidelines.

There are many resources that are available to use during my clinicals and future practice. Right now my top three resources would be UpToDate, Epocrates, and then also researching scholarly articles. It will be important during my practicum and also in practice to collaborate with other healthcare professionals as well. “Building collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals and negotiating the role are critical to the success of the implementation of the advanced nurse practitioner role” (Torrens et al., 2020).

a. INSTRUCTION FOR ABOVE POST- Engage by offering new insights, applications, perspectives, information, or implications for practice. Respond to at least one peer on a topic other than the initially assigned topic. Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.

b.
Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.

c.
Reference Citation: Use current 7TH edition APA format to format citations and references and is free of errors. Reference must be with 5 years. I only need 1 paragraph.

MBA 580 Organization Overview   (Processes, Structure, Culture)  Your company manufactures and distributes automobiles across six continents. The structure is very  complex and it is difficult to accurately count the levels of hierarchy. The company operates under a tall  matrixed structure design.   Tall structures can be cumbersome, and decision makers are often those farthest from the customer.  Communication can be slow and difficult, also slowing down decisionmaking speed. The specialized  functions and organizations, often referred to as centers of excellence or centers of expertise (COE),  allow for deep knowledge and expertise. Your company has many functional COEs where increased  structure, governance, and control allow for resource and process efficiencies. Resources are  centralized, reducing duplication of effort across the organization. These efficiencies can, however,  result in rigid, inflexible processes. In addition, COEs can create functional silos or reduced cross functional coordination and lack of connectedness, where each function is striving toward its own  unique objectives.  Your company follows a centralized and standardized approach where enterprisewide decisions are  often made centrally and at the top of the hierarchy. This centralization makes it easier to implement  common policies and practices, prevents parts of the organization from becoming too independent, and  capitalizes on specialization.  Matrixed organizations are often associated with this specialized COE structure. Rather than having  permanent crossfunctional teams or organizations working on specific projects or product launches,  matrixed organizations pull teams together from the various functional departments. Specialists are  pulled from functional areas to work on a specific project or product design. In essence, they report to  two managers at the same time and may work on multiple projects simultaneously. Although the project  manager, who is on the same leadership level as the functional vice president (VP), supervises the  project, the true management authority still resides with the VP.  Specialists supporting specific product launches generally remain “seated” with their functional team but meet regularly with their product team to advance the project. They may be fully dedicated to the  project or still work on other unrelated projects.  Finally, product teams are pulled together at the enterprise level and are not regionspecific. Although  they may produce differentiated projects for unique regions, their primary focus is on enterprisewide  initiatives.
