Title page – use the template found in Canvas…this should be on a single page before the abstract
Abstract – this should be roughly 200 words which summarizes what will be found in the body of the paper. This should be on its own page and comes after the title page and before the body of the paper
Paragraph 1 – an introduction should be written which includes a brief description of the book
Paragraph 2 – describes the author’s main focus about what effective coaching is and why it is important
Next few paragraphs – explains the difference between transactional coaching and transformational coaching and may provide examples of each
**third person writing is required up to this point in the paper
Next few paragraphs – describe how the book relates to your current coaching situation, or may in the future. Some first person is expected in this section of the paper
Final paragraph – writing a concluding paragraph that refers back to the the most important lessons from the book
Important: Please remember to never use A.I., including Chat GPT, the Grammarly A.I. function that rewrites sentences for you, or any other form of A.I. Your papers are automatically checked by a computer program that can detect A.I. and other forms of plagiarism. The grade consequences are severe for plagiarism so please do not engage in it.
In this 3 page paper (not including the title page and abstract), students will:
A. Provide a Title Page (see the Personal Coaching Philosophy Sample Paper for a good example of a proper title page)
B. Provide a brief abstract summarizing the main points covered in the paper
C. Provide an introduction that gives a brief description of the book’s main focus
D. Explain how the book differentiates between transformational and transactional coaching
E. Describe the author’s main thesis made about effective coaching
F. Describe how the book relates to your personal coaching philosophy that you apply today working with your own athletes
G. Provide a concluding paragraph
H. At least two references are properly used & cited within the paper. The references can be from InSideOut Coaching
I. Includes a Reference Page at the end
