Instructions:
- Remember, there are Original research articles that are based on an experiment or study. Often they follow the IMRAD format: introduction, methods, results, and discussion, and Review articles (literature reviews) are written to bring together and summarize the results/conclusions from multiple original research articles/studies. This analysis will be performed in a research study, you may copy and paste the responses.
- Find the Research Problem/Hypotheses: Often authors will refer to the purpose of the study. This is often articulated in the abstract, introduction, or background.
- Find the purpose statement?
- Find the study design?
- Identify the participants. How were these chosen?
- Identify the control group.
- Identify the intervention?
- outcomes (what was measured).
- What were the results?
- Where are the hypotheses rejected or accepted?
- Limitations.
