Answers
Q1.
The main reason Nestles accepted the change and upgraded its quality documentation scheme
E
was due to time wastage and delay in its operations process since the system it was using for
documentation was paper-based methods of documentation. Thus, this made the organization’s data
IT
retrieval processes take longer than estimated. The scheme could have been more challenging, tedious,
and cumbersome, specifically in gathering and evaluating data. Furthermore, paper-based
EL
documentation systems are usually slow and generally offer poor quality, making Nestle Waters incur
unnecessary additional costs (Blanco-Novoa et al., 2020). According to the organization’s
stakeholders, any issue that needed urgent consideration, particularly on the manufacturing line, could
not be appropriately solved by applying paper-based systems making engineers strain when retrieving
U
and analyzing such data for decision-making.
Due to this, solutions to the problem could not be arrived at on time. Therefore, the
SE
organization perceived the need for new and updated systems to make them monitor, review and
scrutinize its data. Ultimately, the organization was motivated to execute a uniform resolution within
all its factories and facilities operations for standardization. According to Pyzdek and Keller, the
organization should aim to confirm that all its manufacturing sites are synchronized (Pyzdek & Keller,
2013).Thus, this is also a factor that made Nestle Waters accept change.
Q2
The InfinityQS – Professional services implementation entails planning, designing strategies,
as well as project management techniques. From an IT perspective, this execution concentrates on two
individual sections, namely the retail –manufacturing unit and the Home and office unit. Thus, each
department has its objectives that are needed to be attained. The objectives to be attained in the retail
-manufacturing unit entail upgrading all the factories to have the most up-to-date InfinityQS – software
and organizing and acquiring individual computers for each workstation (Bonetti et al., 2022). Another
aim is to ensure that all the project leaders have the necessary permission and right to access and use
the server.
On the other hand, the modification pursuits required within the home and office department
concentrate on enhancing software and infrastructure capabilities. Hence, the primary aim is to format
or configure the existing servers reading the needs of the installation of the software, safeguarding the
E
best compatibility and performance. Another objective entails the InfintyQS –ProficientTM software
IT
installation, including SQL databases, facilitating successful data analysis and management (Helo &
Hao, 2021). Finally, the other aim is that users in the unit have adequate authorization to access and
use the software. Therefore, these objectives are to improve the technological competencies of the
EL
office and home units, to enhance the effective processing of data, and to support better decisionmaking.
Q3
InfinityQS implementation can help to boost the organization’s operations process and other
activities by tracking the tendencies that management can use to form correct, adequate, and
U
appropriate decisions on a timely basis (Subramaniam & Lim, 2022). By applying this system, the
SE
Nestle Water organization can gain real-time visibility in its production methods within all its
departments. Also, ProFicient do exceptionally well in processed control and monitoring by tracking
essential process parameters like pressure, temperature, and quality metric. Thus, these parameters are
evaluated against predetermined control boundaries, and if any variation or nonconformance happens,
the system indicates alerts for urgent action to be taken.
Therefore, this positive monitoring can make Nestle Water enterprise to quickly recognize and
correct any problem with their production system, averting likable quality concerns and ensuring
constantly desired production output. Also, ProFicient offers complete reporting, including dashboard
competencies(Majeed et al., 2021). Thus, the company can obtain and analyze data from well-
structured reports and dashboards, determine areas that need improvement, trace the progress, and set
goals for better operation outcomes.
Q4
Management performance has a vital role throughout the processes of the organization’s
transformation. According to Pyzdek and
Keller, they guide and lead workers through the
transformation to successfully implement the changes required (Pyzdek & Keller, 2013). Management
analyzes current and existing processes and recognizes areas for change. Meaning they determine and
processes match them to reflect the organization’s goals.
E
initiate changes. Secondly, management selects suitable solutions and tools to help the enhancement
IT
In addition, they organize and plan the transformation process by forming a clear and welllaid-out plan, stating responsibilities and roles, and distributing resources efficiently. Likewise, they
EL
communicate the modification and its impact, creating understanding, engagement, and commitment
among workers. Moreover, another management role concerning the change processes is seeking
feedback from stakeholders and employees and incorporating them to offer practical understanding for
improvement (Potosky & Azan, 2022). Also, they track and record the change process’s growth,
U
supervise executed changes, and amend as required to attain the desired outcome. They also recognize
and appreciate employees’ contributions, motivating and enhancing ongoing engagement. Finally, they
SE
assess the results against the primary goals to identify the achievement of the transformation process.
Thus, these are the roles that Nestle Water should consider to manage its operational changes
successfully.

Answer 1
According to the case study, there is an evident need for Nestle to update the quality
documentation system or process. This is because of the constant arising issues such as tine
wastage resulted by delays (SPC Software | Manufacturing Quality Software Platform |
U
InfinityQS, n.d.). In this case, delay meant that several tasks were not well executed as they
ought to and this creates the likelihood of making some errors in managing tasks hence causing
SE
delay and poor performance. Some of the important tasks were assumed or overlooked hence a
lot of time was consumed in the less important tasks and this affected the overall success. Having
a manual documentation process made it cumbersome to retrieve data as such documentation
requires ample time to view all content (Keller & Pyzdek, 2012). This thus creates the need to
update this type of documentation to help create efficiency hence saving time to curb any
possible delays. It is vital to highlight manual documentation requires a huge workforce and this
creates loopholes for errors as humans are not able to work thoroughly and may miss out some
important points. Also, human workforce need a lot of time to undertake a simple task as
2
compared to an automated system and thus the need to ensure that an update is well executed to
help enhance efficacy.
Answer 2
One of the key objectives for the retail manufacturing system entail making sure all PCs
and IT have undergone thorough documenting to ensure that all documents can easily be
E
retrieved any time they are need. The aim is ensuring that the project managers are well trained
and educated so that they can have ample skills and knowledge on how to handle and manage the
IT
programs assigned to them. This aids in creating independence for all projects as they are well
managed and all teammates know what is expected of them of them and this makes them
EL
completed all their tasks based on the given expectations (SPC Software | Manufacturing Quality
Software Platform | InfinityQS, n.d.). The other objective is to make sure all PCs are well
installed and configured with Infinity® ProFicientTM system. In the case of home and office
units, the objectives entail ensuring users have the guided and new PCs and the required
U
permissions. Another objective is installing SQL and Infinity® ProFicientTM system to help
create efficiently. Finally, it is important to configure servers to aid in accomplishing the
SE
software installment necessities, all the aims and objectives highlighted for retail, office and
home units were established to create success to avoid wastage of vital resources and time.
Answer 3
Infinity® ProFicientTM system is used in documenting and analyzing. Apart from the
assumptions and opinions known by many individuals, and used in many organizations, this s
termed as an IT based system that allows trend, storage and forecast examination. The
technology entails different merits which include reduced intervention for the human workforce
3
and easing processes such as retrieving data. A well detailed and established criterion will help
ensure that data is stored appropriately for the longest time. Infinity® ProFicientTM system is
used in bettering the process and ensuring operational success. The system can be used in
managing tasks hence being able to complete them satisfactorily. There is thus need to ensure the
system is working out well so that all processes are well managed (Keller & Pyzdek, 2012).

Answer 4
Change processes are influenced by the management and some of the main played by the
IT
management entails aiding in highlighting the areas that need improvements. It aids in
identifying the current system and how to improved such areas (Picciotto, 2020). Other roles
EL
include choosing the viable tools that can be used in the improvement process. This also helps in
ensuring that workers know what is executed of them in terms of handing their task and the
milestones they should abide to attained the required improvements. The management plays a
key role in planning the change process. it ads in customer, workers and supplier feedback as
U
such reviews are important to know how to push forward and this includes negative and positive
feedback. It also plays a key role in ensuring implementing of Infinity® ProFicientTM system.
SE
Finally, the management plays a main role in following of the success contributed by workers to
boost prosperity of a firm.

The Need: Real-time, On-demand Information at Their Fingertips
Nestlé Waters had been using a cumbersome, paper-based
system to collect and analyze data. When issues arose
that required immediate attention, the company’s quality
engineers had to disrupt operators on the production line to
retrieve the necessary data.
Nestlé Waters’ goal was to implement a system that would enable them
to easily monitor, review, and trend real-time quality data. In addition,
they wanted to standardize on one solution—across all their facilities—
to complement their existing IT infrastructure.

Other improvements have come at a practical level.
“You can read the data rather than having to decipher
the writing of 150 different people. The data is at
your fingertips,” said Julie Chapman, Quality Systems
Manager at Nestlé Waters.
Nestlé Waters is also taking full advantage of InfinityQS’ realtime alarms. Any events that occur require assignable cause and
corrective action entries. Plant floor operators review, evaluate, and
respond to any events that occur—before they cause quality issues.
It is ultimately easier for the operator. Even with the
minimal computer skills many of the operators had in
the beginning, the overwhelming consensus is that they
prefer using InfinityQS over a paper system.
