Answer the following questions above. The assignment is based on a virtual patient
scenario using the initials L.H which is a 24 year old female that presented for a referral for
her mood. The patient reported being irritable 2 weeks ago, family and friends reporting
sudden mood changes, and pressured speech. The patient reports a history of depression
while in college 3 years ago. The patient has a family history of mood swings. During
physical exam the patient often crossed her arms and had closed body language. The
patient mood was “Low and annoyed”, depressed/sad, and irritable. My final diagnosis was
bipolar disorder I. The patient denied wanting to self-harm or hard other but reports being
talkative. The patient reports during her depressive episode in college she gained weight,
distanced herself from other, and most recently maxed out her credit card and drinking
more over the weekends.
