Why Should I Choose Your Program?

During the past weeks you have been challenged to think about the critical role of play and creativity in children’s healthy development and learning. You have reviewed resources from researchers, experts, and practitioners. In this module, you will have an opportunity to put theory into practice by participating in an online simulation experience within a virtual environment. This unique experience will allow you to interact online in real time with an avatar who plays the role of a parent who is questioning why she should enroll her child in your play- and creativity-based preschool program. You will take on the role of the director meeting with the parent to respond to her questions.

Then, use the resources and what you have learned throughout the course to complete the Simulation Meeting Notes Template Download Simulation Meeting Notes Template, which must be submitted as your Assignment by the end of Week 5. You will be able to refer to these notes during your Simulation experience.

Note:

You will not be graded on your performance during the Simulation. Rather, this exercise is a tool to practice communicating—and advocating for—the value of play and creativity in children’s healthy development and learning.
Save a copy of your Simulation Meeting Notes to refer to when you participate in your Week 6 Simulation.
When you have completed your Simulation, take time to reflect on and record your thoughts and reactions to the experience. You will have an opportunity to discuss your Simulation experience in the Week 6 Discussion.
