● This reduces myocardial oxygen demand, helping the healing heart work more efficiently.
2. Prevent Dangerous Arrhythmias
● After an MI, the heart is electrically unstable.
● Beta-blockers decrease the risk of ventricular arrhythmias, a major cause of sudden cardiac death.
3. Limit Infarct Size
